A European Silk Road
Updated: Apr 7, 2021
21st of November 2019. Brussels.
The idea of the European Silk Road has been successfully presented by Mario Holzner (wiiw) in cooperation with the Austrian National Bank and the Vienna Institute for International Economical Studies (wiiw) to a very diverse audience at the permanent representation of Austria to the EU.
Heartfelt Congratulations to our cooperation partner in Vienna for this first successful step in Brussels to an exceptional group of characters and experts in their respective field like Maja Bakran (European Commission), Marek Dabrowski (Bruegel), Isabella Lindner (ONB) and Romana Vlahutin (EEAC). We are very glad that our Artistic & Musical Director Jan Moritz Onken could join the audience to support this positive and independent plan from Europeans for Europeans and beyond.
Europe is different - and if Europe is starting to compose a European Silk Road - with the most advanced, green and sustainable technologies and knowledge of the 21st century - it is and will be different from other Silk Roads from the very beginning. Starting with an unusual partnership of European stake holders, who are known to develop and to realize their own views and defined formulations differently.
We are happy and grateful to give our piece of silk - intensity - in this positive and independent European idea.
