We are happy to share the news that Eyal Edelmann (Bass) and Jean-Philippe Lazure (Tenor) are joining the Callias Ensemble for the coming Berliner Dialogkonzerte.
Eyal, 1981, Born in a Kibbutz in north Israel.
Started to play the Tuba at the age of 9, and began to sing at the age of 16.
Playing the Tuba, He served in the Israeli army Orchestra, played solo with Orchestras All over the World, gave masterclasses and won the 2008 Aviv competition for brass.
After his army Service, singing became his main doing.
Singing in the Israeli Opera company, studying voice in the Buchman Mehta school of music in the Tel Aviv University and other projects.
Between 2009 and 2014, Eyal sang Bass for the international Acapella ensamble "The Voca People".
Lives in Berlin since 2010. Nowdays, combining music and working as a tour guide for Israelis in Berlin and around it.
Jean-Philippe Lazure is a graduate of the Canadian Opera Company’s elite Ensemble Studio. He performed the roles of Remendado in their mainstage productions of Carmen, Don Curzioin Le Nozze di Figaro, and Conte Almaviva (Il Barbiere di Siviglia).
Mr. Lazure portrayed Cartierand Father Andre in Canadian Opera Company’s acclaimed 2017 production of Louis Riel, in Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec.
Opera roles in 2018 for Jean-Philippe include Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte with Toronto Lyric Opera Centre, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi with Orchestra Toronto/Essential Opera, Candide at Banff Centre for the Arts, and Remendado in Opera Kelowna’s Carmen.
Jean- Philippe sang the role of Georgie in Opera on the Avalon’s production of Estacio/Chafe’s powerful opera OURS, commemorating the Royal Newfoundland Regiment in World War 1.In demand as a soloist with orchestras and choirs throughout Canada, Jean-Philippe has performed in Messiah with Gatineau Symphony Orchestra and Windsor Symphony, Eternal Light (Goodall) with Ottawa Choral Society, Mozart’s Coronation Mass with Toronto Mozart Project, St. Matthew Passion with Choeur Classique de Montreal and Mozart’s Requiem with Grand Philharmonic Choir. ean –Philippe debuted with Orchestre Symphonique de Laval in a concert of Bach Cantatas (BWV 70, 90) with Alain Trudel, conductor.
A native of Kitchener-Waterloo and graduate of the Université de Montréal, Jean-Philippe has participated in Young Artist programs with the National Arts Centre, Centre d’Arts Orford and is the recipient of the Governor General Performing Arts Awards Mentorship Program, paired with Canadian bass Joseph Rouleau.
